Why Home Inspections are a Smart Decision
By: R Chandler Smith, Wed Apr 4th, 2007
Ponder about this. Whichever piece of estate you come across is probably going to be not quite perfect. But a real estate purchase is like a garage sale; only instead of trading old junk and shoes, you are purchasing and selling the actual garage. You will never find a perfect home, not even a builder home will be perfect as far as a home inspection is concerned. But, you may just locate the ideal home for you. For these reasons, it is extremely important that your investments are reviewed entirely by a state licensed professional. The sale of house is always negotiable, and a proper third-party assessment is a covenant of the deal that you will desire to always stay firm on. Get it in writing, and have it signed. Leave not a thing to chance.

What’s This About An Inspection?
By: Paul Glover, Tue Jan 16th, 2007
Before you have any major work performed on your home, you may need to get your property inspected twice: once before the work is started and again after the work is complete. Your need for an inspection (and the number of times that the inspection is required) depends upon the laws of your state or city and the type of work that you plan on having done. A simple paint job for the interior of your home for example, doesn’t need an inspection however a siding job does. In fact, a siding job requires an inspection before the job even starts and after the job is complete.

Foreclosure Disclosure: Do I Really Need An Inspection on a Bank Owned Home?
By: Teri Eckholm, Wed Mar 7th, 2007
The local news investigators recently did a story on foreclosed homes that banks are putting on the market in the Twin Cities area. The story had an ominous tone. The reporter visited a home with a hidden camera in tow posing as a potential buyer. Questions were asked about the condition of the home and regarding disclosures available. This particular home did have evidence of a mold problem, dark spots on a sheet rocked wall. A few days later, the reporter returned to the home and the area with the mold had been repainted.
